Chelsea's Help International

Introducing: Chelsea’s Help International – Helping Orphans in China We had fun playing with the kids at the Zhongshan Childrens Welfare Institute (ZCWI). The ZCWI is one of 56 orphanages in the province of Guangdong . The ZCWI is home to over 300 children. We wanted to do something for the place that gave Chelsea a home for the first 2 years of her life. We plan to send shipments over a couple of times a year. We want to start by sending soccer balls to our friends at the ZCWI. If you would like to help, send your contributions to: CHI PO BOX 2633 Ruston, LA 71272. We would like to send by April 1, 2013. Thanks for sharing.

Orphanage visit

We visited the orphanage today. At first I was worried about going with Chelsea. She is so easy going and happy but this morning in the car she threw a huge fit. She did not want her socks on. I have raised 2 two year olds so I wasn't about to give in. I put one sock on and Neal put the other on and she was mad! She went to Nanny and went straight to sleep.

We got to the orphanage and they gave us her finding ad. They ayis were so excited to see her. We knew she had been loved but we had no idea. Even the children were calling her name. It was a great visit! Here are some pics. I will let Neal write in more detail. He could have stayed there all day playing with those children. They were all excited and playing. Not what I expected. We found out that she was already in "preschool" from9-10:30 each day with 11 other children. They usually don't start until they are over 2 but she is exceptional!

This ayi got a little teary. She said how smart she is and so funny. She got her to point to her chin, nose, eyes. Chelsea was very happy to see her but then reached for me and said "mama". Yes, I'm in love!

Her teacher in her classroom:

Bye bye orphanage!

Let's go!
