Chelsea's Help International

Introducing: Chelsea’s Help International – Helping Orphans in China We had fun playing with the kids at the Zhongshan Childrens Welfare Institute (ZCWI). The ZCWI is one of 56 orphanages in the province of Guangdong . The ZCWI is home to over 300 children. We wanted to do something for the place that gave Chelsea a home for the first 2 years of her life. We plan to send shipments over a couple of times a year. We want to start by sending soccer balls to our friends at the ZCWI. If you would like to help, send your contributions to: CHI PO BOX 2633 Ruston, LA 71272. We would like to send by April 1, 2013. Thanks for sharing.

We have been very busy running the roads and visiting, trying to get settled at home and working on turning Chelsea's sleep around.  We are getting there.  Finally!

Last week we went to visit my Grandmother. We dropped in early so she didn't have her "face" on yet but Mamaw is always beautiful.  We had a fun visit.  I took some pics of her in front of the house.  The weather wasn't pretty but Chelsea sure was.  We will go back in the Spring when the flowers are blooming.

We got to do a little shopping at my aunt and cousin's.  Chelsea is going to look so cute in her new clothes this Spring and Summer.  I think she may be dressed better than her Mama.

Saturday we went to Monroe to watch Cayden play in an indoor soccer tournament.  It was lots of fun. She is going to be a great cheerleader for her brothers.

 B & Papa came too:

Saturday afternoon Graham went to a camp out at Lincoln Parish Park.  Chelsea and I stayed at the campsite a while.  She didn't know what to think about all the tall trees and wasn't sure about walking around in the pinestraw.

Saturday evening we ran out to Squire Creek to be introduced to Nanny and Papaw's friends.  Papaw bought a round of champagne for everyone there and toasted my Mom, his bride, of 50 years.  They celebrated their anniversary the day we got home from China so Dad says that Chelsea is his anniversary gift my Mom brought him:)  She sat so nicely.  I hope she continues to do this!
We went to church yesterday for the first time since being home and Rev. Brian brought Chelsea down for a blessing.  I will post a pic when I get it.  She sat through the whole service without raising a fuss.  She also loved the band and music.
I went back to work at the church last night and left Neal with the kids.  This is what I came home to:

This morning we started Kindermusic.  At first Chelsea wasn't too sure, but she got involved pretty fast.  I think she is going to like it.

Today, we went visiting!

The boys started back to school today. So after getting dressed and doing a little clean up, Chelsea and I went out for some visits. First stop was Lincoln Builders (our family's contracting business)

She went right to work. She gets that ethic honestly:)

Then lots of pretty ladies gave her a lot of attention:

This is Georgia who notarized all our adoption documents, some more than once. Thank you! She let Chelsea try on her glasses.

She got to meet her cousin-in-law, Patrick, and she took right to him.

This is Patrick's son Grey's pic on his computer.

Monkey see, monkey do

Then she got to meet Uncle Danny (Papaw's brother)

She likes her new car seat. We went to the carwash and she loved all the foam on the windows.

We went by the church and met the office staff (no pics but they loved her) and then by to see Mr. Dud, my broker. Then it was home for lunch and a nap. She went to her bed and pointed at it. Sleepyhead slept for 2 hours. Then it was a quick trip to Walgreen's for her first buggy ride. She liked it so much she screamed when I took her out.

After that, we went to the boys' school. They could not wait for their classes to meet her.

Then it was back home for playing and visitors. Cayden said he had the best day of school ever. He also told me that all of his days at school were going to be awesome because he would have something fun to look forward to everyday when he got home. Sweet brothers!

Patrick's wife and their three children brought dinner (yes, we are getting spoiled) and visited. The girls brought drawings for Chelsea and Grey kept hugging her. She didn't know what to think about that! Ellen kept changing her bow. She loved that!

Kim and her daughter, Gracie, came by. Gracie is also adopted from China but she was too busy playing with Cayden to get a pic

Bath time and play time with Daddy and now she's fast asleep.

Night, night Chelsea. We have a whole new batch of adventures tomorrow. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

More visitors:)

We have just been hanging around the house and exploring the living room. Tonight she ventured into the kitchen and hallway by herself. So glad she is feeling comfortable in her home. She is a complete joy and is so loved, especially by her big brothers. Here are some pics from the past couple of days.

Last night Chelsea had noodles. Graham has taught her a new trick.

I took her by my book club last night to meet the ladies and she had a very good time. No pics though but it was an "outing".

We started the day with a visit from 2 very special girls and their mom. Tatum and Kenley visited with Kim. Kelley's adoption two years ago and Kim's support was the catalyst for our family's desire to bring Chelsea home.

Cousin May Hollis also stopped by for a visit. Chelsea was so excited to see her and ran to her with smiles and hugs.

Chelsea learned to slide today:

Graham taught her all her shapes and she said them all. He is so sweet with her and loves to teach her new things.

Then we went on our first walk around the 'hood. We saw a couple of neighbors and visited. Se loved it.

Then cousins Zoe and Mia came over and helped her with sliding. She really got the hang of it.

Daddy has wanted her to have "horns" so we gave them a try tonight. What a cutie. This is for home only:)

Then she learned to catch falling Cheerios.

Chelsea is also very flexible:

We also had a visit from Cousin-in-law Ginny and her two children,Ginger and Brice. Ginger gladly passed down lots of bows that she "is not into anymore" and they brought this precious bow holder. Cayden took his time to put on the bows on.

Dinner was brought by a friend which included chicken and dumplings and Social Bites cupcakes. They were both yummy and Chelsea can be declared Southern now. Cant wait to see what tomorrow brings. the boys return to school after being out for a month!

Visitors!

We have had lots of company the past two days. Yesterday we had a total of 29 (Neal kept a list). Today was a little slower. Chelsea loved them all. Lots of bugs and kisses and no complaining. Here a few pics:

Lucy and her mom and dad, Brooksie and Will, drove by and we had them stop.

Mrs. Sherry and Sarah came over and brought Daisy home. Chelsea jumped over to Daisy. She must have thought she was a stuffed dog because she is not interested her at all now.

Her oldest cousin Taylor came by last night.

Today we went to see my 91 year old grandfather who Chelsea Reagan is named after, Pop. They snuck her back into ICU:). Shhhh, don't tell. We came straight home and took a bath.

Then Cayden thought I should give her a pedicure. She sat very still while I painted and they dried.

Then the Lockard crew showed up. I think Uncle Bo has a new sweetheart.

Charlie, Riley and Graham sat down and had a tea party with Chelsea. So sweet. I don't have pics.

Then we had both sets of grands over at one time.

Didn't have much of a routine yesterday so her sleep was off. She had a nap today and is going to bed on time tonight! Mom and Dad are too.
